Super Bowl LIX
Let's take a crack at calling the winner...
When I’m taking the chart of an event that’s yet to come, like a sporting event, I take the time and place where the game is set to begin. For the Super Bowl on February 9, 2025, we are going to take New Orleans at 6:30 pm eastern time, US.
We will assign the home team to the first house and the away team to the sixth house. The NFL has given the Philadelphia Eagles home team status with the Kansas City Chiefs getting away team status. In the chart below, we see that this is a face off between Sun and Saturn, with the Eagles having the Sun behind them (Leo is rising, 1st house) and the Chiefs having Saturn and Rahu behind them, as rulers of the descending 7th house.
The ninth house of a chart can show victory or winning. Which of these teams will be supported by or connected to that 9th house? No planets sit there, but it is Aries, with retrograde Mars ruling and placed in the 11th house of gains, closely conjoining the waxing Moon, which could seem nice, but the Moon rules the 12th house of “loss.”
The Sun, ruler of the Eagles in this instance, sits in the enemy sign of Capricorn with Mercury, indicating that whoever wins, it should be a good game, with both teams showing up with their best. Saturn, ruler of the Chiefs, is the ruler of the 6th house which is decorated by Capricorn.
Saturn, co-ruler of Aquarius and supporter of the Chiefs for this game, is placed strongly in his own sign, in the 7th house, giving an aspect to the 9th house, indicating that the Chiefs have their hands close to that victory. The co-lord of Aquarius, Rahu, sits with exalted Venus, showing that the Chiefs could be the favored team in this match.
A twist could be that the ruler of the 9th house, Mars, does sit in Gemini, connecting that victory loosely to the Eagles with Gemini’s ruler, Mercury, conjoining the Sun.
Another thing to track would be the shadbal (strength calculation) for each of Saturn and Sun. In this case, Saturn is just a bit stronger.
With all that in the hopper, I’m going with the Kansas City Chiefs as winners. I’ve found it very hard to predict games like this, so let’s see how I do!
UPDATE: 1st quarter. The Eagles are ahead 6, with Chiefs 0. I’m sticking to my prediction. Here’s something to add in; especially with “winning” landing in the 9th house. We look at the navamsa chart for confirmation…
Please notice that the time for this is different from the first chart. For this navamsa, I used the moment of kickoff, which was at 6:42 pm, after all the fanfare. The natal chart had the rising sign degree advance a few ahead, which didn’t make much of a difference.
The Sun = Eagles ends up in 3rd house Virgo with Venus and Mercury, even bringing the green color (Mercury) of the Eagles uniforms. Saturn = Chiefs ends up in 11th house Taurus with retrograde Mars, who carries the red color of the Chiefs uniform.
It is still really hard to tell who wins from this! The ruler of the navamsa 9th house, Jupiter, is in the 12th house of loss with the Moon… So far, a good game!
POST GAME WRAP UP! Once again, I fail at picking the right team, luckily I never put any bets on my guesses. With the Eagles winning 40 - 22, perhaps what I missed was how powerful that 3rd house of the navamsa is, representing the Eagles with the Sun and having three planets aspecting the 9th house of the navamsa chart.
